Mi osservo davanti allo specchio: che bagno di vanità il tuo stare in mia compagnia.

Riconosco ogni singola posa che il tuo corpo assume, ogni singolo impercettibile inconsapevole movimento che caratterizza te come possessore di quel corpo: la posizione della caviglia di destra mentre tieni le gambe accavallate, l’angolazione della coscia, la piega della schiena, le mani abbandonate  sul grembo che improvvisamente prendono vita mentre qualche attimo dopo esserti seduto riprendi a parlare.

Dita, polsi, avambracci, gomiti, spalle che si muovono. Ossa che si spostano e dentro tu. Il tuo sguardo, le espressioni che accompagnano il susseguirsi degli stati d’animo.

Io regista e complice del tuo spettacolo comprendo d’un tratto saprei riprodurre perfettamente il tuo personaggio. Con tutti i tuoi dettagli.

Saprei chiedere ad un attore preparato di interpretare te per una nuova opera, e dirigerlo.

Che invidia mi fai, essere stato osservato così meticolosamente. Avere incontrato in me un interesse nei tuoi confronti tale da spingermi a studiarti.

Tu non sapresti da dove incominciare per costruirti un’altra me.

I look at myself in the mirror: what a dip into vanity – you being in my presence.

I recognise every single pose your body assumes. Every single imperceptible unaware movement that defines you as the possessor of that body: the position of the right ankle while you keep the legs crossed, the angle of the tigh, the pleat of the spine, hands abandoned on your lap which suddenly come to life when you regain talking.

Fingers, wrists, forearms, shoulders moving. Bones shifting and inside, you. Your gaze, the expressions associated to the changes of  your mood.

I, director and partner in crime of your show, all of a sudden realise that I could perfectly reproduce your character.

With all your features.

I would be able to recruit the best professional actor to play you in a new script.

I feel envious. You having been observed so meticulously, having met in me such an interest towards you so that I was pushed into studying you.
